Grace Horowitz: March’s Artist Show Opening | Clinton Street Coffeehouse
Join us for live music from Wild Blue Morning 5pm-7pm.
Grace Horowitz is a Portland based painter, poet, musician, mother, lover, witch and therapist. Her recent works express the fortitude and courage the human spirit is capable of, along the journeys from darkness, loss and longing into a great alchemical smile of self-renewal. The depth of color in her paintings come from some unnamable depth of heart, like myriad dream images forged in the unconscious. Grace is a community builder who encourages and inspires her audience and friends toward authentic expression. She is inspired by the love of her life Sylvan (her son), and continually enamoured of the local Portland arts and music community. She strives to recreate the mystical beauty and revelation eschewed by modern media. You can find her at local concerts, songwriter showcases, tea houses, soul dances and donut shops, probably with a divination deck and a new tattoo…
Colin Andrews, of Wild Blue Morning, plays a mix of original dreamscape acoustic folk and free-wheelin’ Americana music.

ADAM HURST: Outside of Time | Gagallery
Gagallery presents paintings and sculptures from Adam Hurst.
Artist Statement:
“Concepts can have many manifestations. I work in series
and define parameters during my artistic experiments in order
to create permutations of an idea. Working simultaneously
on many pieces in a series allows variations to develop.
My visual artwork is like my instrumental compositions; both
are nonobjective, and both are about mystery, beauty,
emotion. My visceral response is what is most important in
determining when a work is complete.
Technique, simplicity, detail, and feeling guide my creative
process.”
-Adam Hurst

Joseph | chefas projects
Chefas Projects is delighted to unveil Joseph, a group exhibition curated by Jeroen Smeets from The Jaunt. The show highlights the creative endeavors of five distinguished artists who participated in The Jaunt’s 2023 Summer Camp program: Tim Biskup, Jillian Evelyn, William LaChance, Macarena Luzi, and Stevie Shao.
In September 2023, The Jaunt brought together these artists in the quaint town of Joseph, Oregon. The annual Jaunt Summer Camp aimed to inspire participants with the town’s scenic landscapes, serene nature, and collaborative atmosphere. Hailing from St Louis, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Detroit, the artists, who had not previously explored this part of East Oregon, found themselves captivated by its beauty.
Over five days, the artists bonded through exploration and mutual discovery of their surroundings. Hikes and horseback rides in the neighboring mountains facilitated camaraderie, while a shared workspace at the Jennings Hotel allowed them to witness and engage in each other’s creative processes.
The exhibition, appropriately titled Joseph, serves as a testament to the artists’ five transformative days together and the collective fruits of their creativity. Each artist translated their experiences and observations into a series of original works and a limited edition silkscreen print, all of which will be showcased at Chefas Projects in this collaborative exhibition with The Jaunt.
5 PM – 8:00 PM @ 134 SE Taylor St., Suite 203, Portland, OR
Shriek of Color | The Lobby
Joan Snyder is an artist included in the Shriek of Color exhibition. Snyder, known for her visceral expressions and loose depictions of objects, often imbues her paintings with visceral physicality.
In “Come Spring,” the painting featured in the exhibition, the objects, though clearly flowers, transcend fixed forms as the colors bleed into the viewer’s space, suggesting rather than defining.
You may see more of her work at https://www.joansnyder.net/homepage
and her current exhibition at her NY Gallery https://canadaonlinevr.com/ovr/comeclose
